Golden Catalyst presents:

Chinese New Year in the Desert™ — where culture, community, and celebration come together.

Chinese New Year—known as the Spring Festival in China, Tết in Vietnam, and Seollal in Korea—is one of the most significant and cherished celebrations across Asian cultures. It is a time to honor tradition, celebrate family and community, welcome prosperity and good fortune, and look forward to a new year filled with hope and opportunity.

For more than 15 years, Chinese New Year in the Desert™ has brought the vibrant traditions, flavors, artistry, and cultural heritage of Lunar New Year to Southern Nevada. What began as a local celebration has grown into one of Las Vegas’ premier multicultural events, expanding across multiple venues and welcoming thousands of guests each year.

This remarkable journey would not be possible without the generosity of our sponsors, donors, community partners, volunteers, and supporters. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Ty family, with special appreciation for the late Chef Michael Ty, Mary Ann Ty, and Michael David Ty, as well as Jamba at Harry Reid International Airport, for their longstanding and continued support of this celebration.

Now entering its 16th year, Chinese New Year in the Desert™ continues to reach new heights. The festival has been officially recognized as part of Nevada 150, celebrating Nevada’s rich history and cultural diversity. It has also earned national recognition, including being named by Forbes Magazine as one of the Top 8 places in the United States to celebrate Chinese New Year. We are also proud to be an official partner of America250, joining a nationwide celebration of America’s 250th anniversary.

Our vision is bold: to establish Las Vegas as home to the largest Chinese New Year celebration in the United States.

More than a festival, Chinese New Year in the Desert™ is a platform for cultural education, connection, and understanding. Funds raised through the celebration help support programs and initiatives that promote awareness of and appreciation for Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) cultures, while educating our community about the rich traditions, history, and significance of Lunar New Year.

A Culinary Celebration Like Never Before
